LEANNE PARIS - SELF TILTLED EP;
The first track on this EP was a harbinger of memories from the first time I saw Leanne at The Peats Ridge festival. This was the style that caught our attention secondly - I say secondly as the first thing we heard was that wonderful rhodes in between verses ...
The tracks on this EP are exceptional. The adjectives that come to mind - harmonic, soulful, groovy, jazzy, funky, there is no one genre to slot this in. If you like blues, rock, ballad, funk, music - you will love this CD. The supporting musicians and vocalists add just that right touch, not too much and not too little, real baby bear stuff.
If this is Leanne's first recording I will be eager to hear more. Lyrically and melodiously these songs lack nothing.
Leanne Paris is a performer that you will have to grab the opportunity to see. In the meanwhile grab a copy of this EP to have a little appetiser prior to what I feel will be a musical banquet. I would advise to be first in line for the CD at a performance though - at her last show all copies on hand were sold out on the night.
Now - that speaks volumes. I need say no more.
