2RPH - MORE THAN A RADIO STATION:
For many listeners, Radio 2RPH provides a vital link between themselves and the printed word. One such listener is Novocastrian, Rodney Joass.
"I spend most of my time working alone, so the readers at 2RPH are like friends that I can rely on".

"I don't think I could pick a favourite segment, I love it all. The Newcastle Herald, the book readings, the quiz, the stars, the gossip, the list is endless, though I particularly love the travel stories" said Mr Joass.

"It is very gratifying to hear of the positive effects 2RPH has on the lives of not only those with a print disability, but to people such as Rodney who simply enjoy the programming" said 2RPH Station Manager, Nicci Lindemann.

Of particular interest to Hunter listeners are readings from the Newcastle Herald, Mondays to Fridays from 10 am to 11.30 am, and on Saturdays from 2 pm to 4 pm.

In its mission to achieve equity through access to printed information for all, 2RPH broadcasts a wide cross-section of general interest programmes covering topics from history to horticulture, readings from more than 30 magazines, children's books, and news from the daily papers.

Reaching a diverse range of people who tune in for many reasons, from taxi drivers to those learning English as a second language, and from busy work-at-home parents to people recently fitted with a cochlear implant who are learning to hear, 2RPH's audience are from myriad backgrounds. The station provides information, current affairs and entertainment, 24 hours a day, every day of the year.

Tune in and turn up this unique radio reading service on 100.5 FM, and via the live stream at 2rph.org.au. There really is no other radio station quite like 2RPH!

ROSS‘The Crow’ BRYANT:
After 38 years of service to the Central Coast, 2GO’s (and the coast’s) pre eminent news person Ross ‘The Crow’ Bryant has announced his retirement. Ross left 2GO on December 14 after presenting the early morning news for the final time. On one of numerous tributes on Facebook Ian Munro writes: "Ross is to Central Coast Radio as Brian Henderson was to TV news. Irreplaceable. His sharp one liners and wry comments about some people who make the news. Always the Professional. He has earned his rest and not only for his contribution to local radio.”

He will call it quits on January 27 2013.
Many of us grew up listenig to John's very familiar voice on our very own and only radio station 2GO a few years ago..
