THE BABY SNAKES BIO |
BABY SNAKES:
Baby Snakes is a five-piece instrumental band who strive to create groove and danceable funk tunes, as well as new, thought-provoking music, through interesting musical complexities and style and genre amalgamations.
The group, made up of five high school friends who decided to merge together from other bands (Rowan and the Chestnuts, Doomsday Broadcast), was born in July 2011 under the idea that they would be making ballsy, straight up, funk music. These intentions went through a metamorphosis, which has left the band with a style that isn't so easily labelled and with a set of original material that isn't so straightforward.
With heavy inspiration from bands such as Frank Zappa (The Mothers), Mahavishnu Orchestra, King Crimson, Mr. Bungle, Led Zeppelin, Sly and the Family Stone and Focus, you get a group with plenty of variety that's all about instrumentation, musicality and expression.
Baby Snakes are currently sweeping across the Central Coast, Sydney and Newcastle, gathering more and more gigs and interest. If you're intrigued by a progressive sound that you can dance to, or just have an overall love of music, they are definitely worth checking out. |
