Whats On Central Coast Logo Button image COASTAL A CAPPELLA:
Coastal a Cappella are the current Australian Small Chorus Champions (April 2011)
Coastal a Cappella is a contemporary group of female singers dedicated to musical excellence in the barbershop style.
We aim to spread harmony through quality education and performances.

Coastal a Cappella (formerly Central Coast Harmony Chorus) is a dynamic women's harmony group singing four part harmonies in the barbershop style.

Formed in 1990 we perform regularly at community events around the coast.

We recently competed in the Australian Regional competition and placed 2nd in the Small Chorus division.

We're having fun working to improve our score at the next competition.

Barbershop music is sung in four parts:-
Lead: mainly sings the melody
Tenor: sings high harmony, usually holding a counter melody. The tenor voice should be sweet and light so it doesn't overpower the lead.
Baritone: mainly in the same range as the lead,- the baritones provide harmonies, singing intricate intervals and sometimes crossing with the lead.
Bass: for women with rich, warm voices singing in the lower register. The bass provides the foundation for the four part harmony.

Director - Linda Wareham
Linda joined Sweet Adelines 19 years ago and her passion & enthusiasm for this wonderful organisation has taken her on a journey that has included Chorus member, Chorus Management Team member, Regional Management Team member, Quartet member and Musical Director.
She loves to sing and to share her musical knowledge.
Linda became Musical Director of Coastal a Cappella (formerly Central Coast Harmony Chorus) in 2007 and her commitment to musical excellence saw the the Chorus take out 2nd place in the Small Chorus awards at the 2009 Regional competition.
