DAI PRITCHARD - THE REVIEW
Dai Pritchard image DAI PRITCHARD - The tats and the rock:
Do you know who you are seeing? I know I carry on incessantly regarding the amount of talent that has chosen the Central Coast as their home and those who are truly, 'home grown' but it does make this one of the most musically entertaining areas in the state. The rising stars and those already shining brightly that we may not recognise if not in their usual 'habitat'.

When I was first fortunate enough to meet Mr. Pritchard he was doing a fill in gig with another local talent Lone Wolf, Lawrence Baker. I cannot remember whose gig it was but these two guitarists, never having met or heard each others work clicked as well as if they had been playing together for years.

Without an actual name for the band I named the review, LOST as that was the initial statement used on the night... "Good evening everyone we are, um, well, LOST".
Myself and fellow Music Industry specialist Dee were both blown away at the ability for the two guitarists to pick-up and play work virtually unknown to them both.

I have been lucky enough to catch Dai on a few occasions since and I often wondered if all the folks enthralled in the talented performance knew Dai's reputation. Once such punter did on Sunday and out came the mobile to spread the word.

This was an outdoors covers gig but the talent was still blatantly obvious. Dai had local rhythmatist King Rhythm on stage with him today, a combination that is also proving quite popular around local venues.

Some of the songs I caught were, Rock n Roll (Ain't Noise Pollution), Mustang Sally, Wild World, a very funky version of Slice Of Heaven, Message in a Bottle and the final and my favourite Stones classic, Sympathy for the Devil (Pleased to Meet you).

Dai Pritchard lives very much up to his reputation of being one of this country's greatest guitar players. It is quite interesting to see this side of his performing character, away from the Tat's. Cheese and chalk comes to mind.

Dai's projects are listed above. Keep your eyes on the Guides for a local performance and get along to see why this man has such a great reputation.
