BIO - FEW AND FAR BETWEEN
FEW AND FAR BETWEEN: Few and Far between formed in February 2009. There was Sam Wainwright, Mitchel Clark, Mitchel Peters and then with the arrival of Jacob Emerson in February we formed our band. Jacob was our bass player and vocalist. When we were starting out our band was influenced by a lot of metal and thrash metal. We largely looked up to the band Metallica. The first battle of the bands heat in May was the first time our band took the stage. We managed to take a place into the semi final, which was planned for October. By October our band had developed. Our genre had changed to metalcore and we had influences of groove and melodic metal. We also had two other gigs under our belt and more stage experience. In the semi final we managed to progress to the grand final in December, but only just as we were deducted marks for harmful crowd behaviour and not controlling our crowd. This was a learning curve for us as a band. The grandfinal was amazing! there was a crowd of 350 people there and we managed to fill the 'mosh' area at Erina Youth Centre. The other bands that were on that played were, Sky Squadron, Spread the Ashes and Silhouette Effect. These bands were great and we were so nervous because of our competition. In the end we put on a great show and won. We won $2500 and had such great memories from that night. Soon after in December, our singer Jacob left. We let our heads down a little. In January 2010, we Picked up an amazing new bassist (Chris Maiden). We played a show at Erina in February and Jacob Emerson came back for one last show where he announced he would be leaving Few & Far Between. Since then, Jake Almond from 'Mercify' has offered to fill in for us as a singer. This is untill we find a replacement..
