This distinctive duo brings together Nick Everitt, a bushman from the Central Coast of New South Wales
Australia, and Liesl Karlsson, a well-traveled Aussie-Swede recently returned to Australia.

Being both singer/songwriters and already involved in more ways than one, teaming up as a duo was as natural as singing in the shower.

With influences ranging from Nick’s love of James Taylor and Cat Stevens to Liesl’s classical songbooks, this multi-instrumental duo present their own uniquely flavoured blend of acoustic, folk and roots. Combining invigorating harmonies with guitar, piano, percussion and a naturally large and varied repertoire, their performance is never predictable and always splendid.

2006 saw two of Nick and Liesl’s tracks included on Australian compilation albums Home Grown Roots Vol. 1 and Sounds Like Café Vol. 12 with consequent national airplay including Triple J.

They hit the stages of major venues such as the Vanguard, Lizotte’s (supporting international blues artist Harry Manx) and the Sandringham Hotel, as well as festivals such as the Twin Valleys Jazz Festival and CoastFest ’06 along with acts like the Audreys and Ash Grunwald.

Ending the year with a successful European tour, Nick and Liesl are now back in Australia recording their debut EP as a duo. With a busy schedule including supports for Kate Miller-Heidke & Juzzie Smith, headlines incl. Wollongong’s Oxford Tavern, The Northern Star and Live @ Lizotte’s and Wagga Jazz & Blues, Uranquinty Folk, Music at the Creek and Peats Ridge Festivals already in for 2007, this year is sure to be big.

They’ve also received recent success in ABC Awards in Newcastle with 3 songs in the finals for the Folk category (winners TBA soon), as well as being selected to perform at the awards with 4 other acts incl. Bob Evans. The EP is due for release in late-2007, after which they will be hitting the road again, this time sticking to Australian venues and festivals until they embark on their second European Tour scheduled for June 2008

Release Date 1st February 2013
Play Now Via Reverbnation

Nick and Liesl are so excited to be able to give you the first listen of the titletrack to our new EP 'Friend and Lover' which will be available in stores and on iTunes on 1st February. We are also offering our newsletter subscribers the opportunity to order the very first copies before they hit stores. To order a pre-release copy simply follow these links (payment by credit card or paypal, shipping after 25 December):

Many of you will recognise this song, which we have promised to record and release for some time now. It's the first song off the EP which also features a couple of covers which you've probably heard us play before, as well as a brand new one never before performed.

This EP is our first completely home-made release. Apart from mixing and mastering, which we put in the safe hands of - would it be too much to call him our recording guru? - Jeff McCormack, all the recordings were done in our home studio by the two of us. Much of the 'Feather' album was recorded at home as well, but this release is much more stripped back and intimate. As you can imagine, recording is an expensive activity and an album is a huge investment. So we hope these 5 tracks will tie you over till the next album, and that sales of this EP will help us raise the funds needed for it.

Touring starts February
