RODRIC WHITE - THE STORY SO FAR:
Rodric White was a finalist in the 1999 National Australian Jazz Piano Competition and is a graduate of the Associate Diploma of Jazz Studies Course (NSW Conservatorium of Music) where he majored in Arranging, Jazz and Classical Piano.
Rodric’s fine pianistic and vocal skills has seen him work with luminary musicians such as James Morrison, Don Burrows, Dale Barlow, Phil Slater, Bernie McGann, Guy Strazz, Jason Morphett and George Golla and entertainers such as Virna Sanzone, Debra Dicembre, George Washingmachine, Lana Nesnas, Dorian Mode and Mick Conway.
Now residing on the Central Coast of NSW (Australia), this year Rodric joined the Conservatorium Contemporary Music and Jazz Studies Program as piano teacher and director of Big Band & Jazz Ensemble.
Rodric has considerable knowledge of entertainment in Sydney, Newcastle and on the Central Coast. Rodric has appeared at venues in Sydney including the Sheraton Grand, the Westin Hotel, the Seymour Centre, the Soup Plus, the Wine Banq, Berkerlouw Wine Bar and the Opera Forecourt Bar, in Newcastle at the Kent Hotel, Northern Star and Exchange Hotel, and on the Central Coast at venues such as Lizotte’s, Holiday Inn, Kim’s Resort, the Country Comfort (Terrigal), the Gosford Regional Gallery & Arts Centre and Avoca Beach Picture Theatre.
Rodric has two albums to his credit: "The Sea Of Tranquility" (Newmarket Music 2006) and "New Jazz Directions" (La Brava Music 1996) and has also recorded with Dale Barlow on his ABC release, “Playground”, and collaborated with Dorian Mode on the arrangements for his album, “Café In Venice” (La Brava Music 2002).
Rodric performed as the featured solo pianist at the Manly International Jazz Festival (Sydney) and the Central Coast Jazz Festival throughout the 1990s and has led his own bands in performances for the Sydney Improvised Music Association (SIMA) and Jazzgroove in Sydney. Over the past four years (from 2005 to 2009), Rodric performed a broad range of musical styles and genres with International Musicians and Entertainers aboard the luxury ships of the Royal Caribbean and Princess Cruise Lines in Europe, Alaska, the USA, Canada and the Caribbean.
