Writing with an honesty and thoughtfulness way beyond her years, there is a feeling that seeing singer/songwriter Vanessa Jade play her growing repertoire at this stage of her burgeoning musical career, is to see an artist who has a bright future before her.
Since her first gig after finishing high school in 2005, Vanessa Jade has captivated audiences all over with her angelic voice and quiet command of the stage.
Vanessa has already been working with some of Australia’s most prominent singer/songwriters including; Josh Pyke, Shane Nicholson, Alex Lloyd, Nic Cester (JET) and Toby Martin (Youth Group) and also playing gigs with Kasey Chambers (The Lost Dogs), Jenny Morris, Perry Keyes, Josh Pyke, and Sarah Humphreys.
Vanessa Jade describes her music as “bluesy/pop with a touch of country/folk and some Americana”, citing influences from the likes of Ryan Adams, Gillian Welch, and Patty Griffin.
Early 2007 Vanessa Jade recorded her debut E.P (Home Again) of 5 original tracks, which although was never released, managed to gain notable industry attention. The Title Track ‘Home again’ won an ABC123 music award, and two other tracks were also top 5 finalist’s at the awards. |
