The Rhythm Hunters at Brackets and Jam North - What's On Central Coast imageWhats On Central Coast Logo Button image THE RHYTHM HUNTERS :
Rendra Freestone is a name that has been synonymous with vision and talent in the local music industry for a long time now.

Rendra and the Rhythm Hunters are a unique concept in entertainment for all occasions.

Playing with the Rhythm Hunter ensemble tonight were Harry Krammer, Kim Ryder, Jody Lorrae and Joseph Smith on percussion, Ian Hakker, well known around the Coast for his wonderful Didge playing and Alan Barclay on the Bagpipes.

A unique mix to say the least and even in this wooden hall the power and the passion (thanks Rob and Peter) were overtly evident.

The visual and aural experience of a Rhythm Hunters show is one not to be missed. The players, the playing and the choreography are a synchronised delight.

The dedication, commitment and interpretation of the composers work and direction are shared throughout the players performances. This is akin to a stage play of world music.

I was in awe at the discovery that Joseph Smith is not even 14 years of age yet. His commitment and ability are similar to those of a person more mature and practiced. This is a young man to keep an eye on. He didn't miss a beat.

Rendra provides classes and workshops on his craft and by the performance standards here tonight I can only surmise that he is a brilliant teacher.
