THE SELTIC SIRENS ARE;
Temptress Tahlia O’Racz – Vocals, mandolin & guitar. With soaring vocals, she brings a fiery quality to all styles of music from folk to classic, country, pop and rock. Working with orchestras and soul bands alike, her outstanding achievements in stage and theatre, here and abroad, have included a lead role in a Jon English rock opera and a tour of Taiwan and Europe. Equally stunning with a pop song or traditional ballad, Tahlia is exploring the use of traditional instruments in contemporary settings as accompaniment for her vocal expertise.

Sorceress Ingrid O’Racz
- Vocals, percussion and pennywhistle.
Ingrid brings her own vocal excellence, natural sense of rhythm and her broad background in dance to the Sirens. Her impressive song writing abilities and harmony skills enhance the Siren’s magic call, creating a unique experience with her visual and musical talents. Ingrid has won numerous vocal awards and has performed nationally and overseas.

The bewitching Faerie Queen Jan McCouchman
– Celtic Harp and vocals.
The Sirens are the result of Jan’s vision, bringing the group together based on creating a rare blend of traditional and contemporary styles of music. She has an extensive background in traditional music and many other musical and dance forms. Her rhythmic harp accompaniments give a contemporary edge to the Siren sound and a haunting resonance to music both old and current. Her delicate playing and Celtic instrumental solos convey a special beauty to the unique Seltic Sirens sound.

Seductress Shannon Bacall
– Vocals, Irish fiddle, recorders, harp, pennywhistle and double bass. Audiences around Australia, Asia and Europe have been captivated by her pure voice and instrumental talent. Her versatility with so many instruments is accompanied by expressive green eyes that twinkle with mischievous Irish fun or tell tales of love and longing. Shannon has starred in Irving Berlin cabarets in London, hit musicals overseas & tours of Asia, performing for the former prince of Malaysia at the Cartier Launches, and as a soloist with the Princess and Royal Carribean Cruise lines.

Their captive David Underwood
– Keyboards and Vocals.
Over 23 years experience in the live music industry has led this versatile musician through many genres of music. Sought after by Rock and Blues bands alike, he has also played Piano Bars and P & O Cruises. In his band, the Button Mushrooms, he has supported artists such as Rene Geyer, Margaret Urlich, Mental as Anything and the Choir Boys. He now goes where no man has gone and returned alive, joining the "Sirens" where his delicate harmonies, magical keyboards and pumping Rock bass ensures his continued survival.

Posted 2nd June 2012
The Seltic Sirens are thrilled to announce another MO award has come their way at the 36th annual presentation ceremony held at Bankstown Sports last Tuesday night, 29th May 2012.

The group took out the award for Best International Theme Show - Live Performance category.

A Seltic Sirens Live performance is a show not to miss and while the group has more gigs booked in Sydney it is always a hope to return to their hometown and another local gig, especially at The Avoca Beach Picture Theatre.

Well done to Tahlia, Ingrid, Shannon, Jan, Jenny, Pete and Krusty (Dave). 2012 MO Awards - Ingrid Racz, Joseph Kalou, Jon English and Dave Underwood - David Underwood Old World Photographics image

Jon English won his MO for Best Rock Band Or Performer, and we had Vince Sorrenti telling refreshingly politically INCORRECT jokes. YES!!!

Jack Vidgen and Katy Perry were amongst the guest performers.
A very entertaining night indeed.

The Seltic Sirens MO Award - whatsoncentralcoast imagePOSTED May 26 2011
It was the 35th annual Mo Awards and the Seltic Sirens were honoured with a top 5 nomination for the Johnny O'Keefe Encouragement Award.

The Seltic Sirens have only been performing on the scene since August 2010. In that time they have already won an ACE Award (Australian Club Award) and now the distinguished MO Award...they must be doing something right.

"It was a wonderful excuse to get all dolled up but winning was a complete surprise!!!"

On the night they showed off their unique sound with a medley of Loreena McKennit's SANTIAGO and Cher's GYPSIES TRAMPS & THIEVES and performed along side the Jon English ROCK SHOW and the wonderful Jenny Green.

Seltic Sirens at the Avoca Beach Picture Theatre - whatsoncentralcoast imageWhats On Central Coast Logo Button image SELTIC SIRENS:
I have seen many bands, done many reviews...
There are only a limited number of adjectives that can convey to the reader the real sensation behind the words as a result of seeing these many musicians play.

I have used words such as brilliant, entertaining, exciting etc. as many reviews of many performances are worthy of these words; BUT I can honestly say I have never had the opportunity to utilise these plus mesmerising, soulful, astounding and even world class for the one performance – until now!

I missed the Mo Award winning, SELTIC SIRENS gig at Ettalong so there was not a chance I was going to miss the only other local performance at the beautiful Avoca Beach Picture Theatre – and I am so glad I made it there.

Each member of the Seltic Sirens on stage this night are some of elite performers in their fields of music - There was no way this show was not going to be anything but entertaining.

There was almost a full house and a few of the patrons were music industry peers who were also grateful to have the night off to make this special event.
Not ONE of us were disappointed.

I have never heard such raves from patrons at gigs whilst wondering through the crowd at intermission. And the positive review chats by other musos was astounding.

There was a rush to the merch table to get just a little bit of these performers and this night to take home and relive, over and over.
Everyone was also keen to get back in for the second half of the show that the expectation and excitement was almost palpable.

The costumes, the melodies, the light show and the songs were in perfect synchronicity to keep the attention of an already mesmerised audience.

The choice of songs fit the singers perfectly and the voices and harmonies were hair raising and hauntingly beautiful. There was an impartation of a few details regarding origins of songs and Celtic history that also fit well with this show.

I have seen many shows and been to many concerts. This event was totally unique to my musical experiences and I was so happily and gratefully taken back in time to my Irish roots to rediscover the fascination, the myth and the beauty of such a wondrous culture.

This is not a band you will see at the local heavy metal pub, there is a definite niche that is not the norm but so appealing to so many.

I understand why the Coast doesn’t have the opportunity to catch this show more often with all the corporate and city gigs the band has and while I will eagerly await another local gig I could not begrudge the utilisation of such wonderful local talent to entertain at large fundraising events to enhance any attempt to aid the needy.

Unlike the myth, hese Sirens' call will leave you smiling and wanting more!
